Troop 327 Sends Six for Leadership Training |

This summer the troop had four Scouts a attend NYLT and two Scouters attend Wood Badge training!
Scouts AB, DL, EM, and EZ attended NYLT training in June. National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.The NYLT course revolves around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.Scouters SB and CS took part in Wood Badge training in August. As the core leadership skills training course for the BSA, Wood Badge focuses on strengthening every volunteer's ability to work with groups of youth and adults.This advanced training is presented in two parts: 1) An advanced learning experience presented over a weeklong course, and 2) An application phase of several months during which the leaders apply the specific skills they have learned at Wood Badge to their Scouting responsibilities….otherwise known as “working your ticket”!Congratulations to all and we hope these trainings have prepared you to do an even better job of carrying out your responsibilities in the troop!
