This summer the troop had four Scouts a attend NYLT and two Scouters attend Wood Badge training!
Scouts AB, DL, EM, and EZ attended NYLT training in June. National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. The NYLT course revolves around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.Scouters SB and CS took part in Wood Badge training in August. As the core leadership skills training course for the BSA, Wood Badge focuses on strengthening every volunteer's ability to work with groups of youth and adults. This advanced training is presented in two parts: 1) An advanced learning experience presented over a weeklong course, and 2) An application phase of several months during which the leaders apply the specific skills they have learned at Wood Badge to their Scouting responsibilities….otherwise known as “working your ticket”!Congratulations to all and we hope these trainings have prepared you to do an even better job of carrying out your responsibilities in the troop!

Inviting All Eagle Scouts of Troop 327
All Eagle Scouts of Troop 327 will be honored at the Scout
Sunday Service at the Hudson United Methodist Church 9 AM service on
February 22nd. An engraved plaque honoring each Eagle Scout of
the Troop will be dedicated during the service, which will then be put on
permanent display at the church.
For many Eagle Scouts of Troop 327 the honor of reaching
their ultimate goal may be a distant memory. Beginning in
1971 with its first Eagle Scout Troop 327 has kept the Eagle
Scout tradition very strong with one or more of its Scouts reaching the rank of
Eagle Scout normally each year. This is a major accomplishment
since only two out of 100 Scouts reach this highest rank in
Scouting nationally. The importance of this accomplishment is
reflected in the Boy Scout saying bestowed to this highest rank in
Scouting, "Once and Eagle, always an Eagle", meaning the Eagle
Scout's strength of character in values and leadership is
carried forth throughout his life.
It is hoped that as many Eagle Scouts and their families from Troop
327 will be in attendance at this special dedication in their honor, for it
will be a rare moment when so many Eagle Scouts will be together from a single
Boy Scout Troop. For more information please contact Troop 327
Advancement Chairperson, Lynn Schmidt at (330) 650-9021.
